The Palestinian Islamic resistance movement (Hamas) reported on Monday that "Israel has not resumed water supplies to the Gaza Strip despite its commitment." An Israeli official responded that some water is being supplied to a region in the southern part of the strip. Eyad al-Bazm, a spokesperson for the Hamas-run Interior Ministry, stated that Israel has not resumed pumping water to Gaza, emphasizing that "the Gaza Strip is suffering from a severe crisis in the availability of drinking water amid the ongoing Israeli aggression." He asserted that "Israel has not pumped any liter of drinking water to any of the governorates in the strip for the tenth consecutive day, forcing citizens to drink unsafe water, which poses a serious health crisis threatening the lives of citizens." An assistant to Israeli Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Yisrael Katz noted that "water is being pumped in Bani Suheila near Khan Younis," but he declined to provide details regarding the amount of water being supplied. Israel halted water supplies to Gaza's residents as part of a tight blockade imposed after Hamas fighters invaded towns and villages in southern Israel on October 7th. Israel stated on Sunday that it would resume some supplies under an agreement with Washington.
