US Navy Shoots Down Drone from Yemen in Red Sea

Two US officials told Reuters on Wednesday that a US Navy ship shot down a drone that had launched from Yemen in the Red Sea. This appears to be the second time the United States has intercepted projectiles near its warships since the outbreak of the conflict between Israel and Hamas. The officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, stated that the US destroyer Thomas Hudner, an Arleigh Burke-class vessel, shot down the drone earlier this morning local time. The officials did not disclose whether the drone was armed or how close it was to the ship before being intercepted.
