Israeli Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi announced today, Sunday, that the Israeli operation in southern Gaza is comparable to the one conducted by the army against Hamas in the northern part of the Palestinian territory. He added in a statement, "We have engaged in intense combat in northern Gaza, and we are doing the same now in the south."
