The Israeli military reported that U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, and former Defense Minister Benny Gantz sought refuge in a fortified room after sirens rang for five minutes. Blinken appeared to be relatively distant from the atmosphere of war and the sirens. Earlier, members of the Knesset fled to shelters during a session after rockets from the resistance reached Jerusalem.
Images from inside the shelter showed a significant crowd as Knesset members crowded in after fleeing, abruptly interrupting the session while Hamas rockets were soaring over settlements. Sources from Hebrew news reported a swift evacuation of Knesset members and the interruption of their session due to a massive rocket launch on Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, and central Palestine.
Netanyahu had just finished his remarks, in which he threatened Hamas in front of the Knesset, when the resistance rockets forced them to leave the location in haste, heading to the shelters "in a rush."
