French presidential envoy Jean-Yves Le Drian is returning to Lebanon tomorrow. On the eve of the visit, it does not seem likely that there will be a breakthrough in the wall of the crisis before he takes on his new responsibilities as Director of Saudi-French relations. Additionally, the domestic atmosphere does not suggest any softening of positions regarding the election of a president, especially after the negative response of certain political forces to House Speaker Nabih Berri's invitation to dialogue.
While awaiting Le Drian's ideas or initiatives, political sources, in contact with "Anbaa" electronic news, expected that there would be no proposals for new candidates for the presidency, as Le Drian's main concern is to facilitate dialogue among the blocs leading to an agreement on one or more names to present to the council for election as president. This aligns with the initiative launched by Berri; however, Berri, according to the sources, is determined to hold the dialogue in the second half of September.
