The mayor of Kryvyi Rih, Oleksandr Vilkul, announced that "at least six people have been killed in a Russian missile attack on the city today, Tuesday, and rescue operations are ongoing." Meanwhile, Serhiy Lysak, the governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region in Ukraine, reported that 25 people were injured due to missile strikes launched by Russia overnight on Kryvyi Rih, which resulted in the destruction of a five-story residential building.
Lysak wrote on Telegram: "There are still people under the rubble," adding that "four people were injured at another location in the city." Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who was born in Kryvyi Rih, condemned the attack on his hometown, stating on Telegram: "Russian murderers continue their war against residential buildings, ordinary cities, and people."
In the early hours of Tuesday morning, air raid sirens sounded throughout Ukraine, warning of aerial attacks, and military officials in Kyiv reported that air defense forces had destroyed all Russian missiles targeting the Ukrainian capital. The Ukrainian military's high command revealed that the air forces destroyed ten out of 14 cruise missiles launched by Russia against Ukraine and one of four Iranian-made drones.
It remains unclear how many missiles struck Kryvyi Rih, nor the locations and targets hit by the drones launched by Russia. The mayor of Kharkiv, in eastern Ukraine, noted on Telegram that "Russian drones struck civilian infrastructure in the city, hitting a warehouse and a service company building."
On another front, the governor of Kursk region in Russia indicated that "Ukrainian shelling early Tuesday morning caused damage to several homes and disrupted gas and electricity supplies in two villages near the border with Ukraine." Governor Roman Starovoit stated that "nine homes were damaged and gas and electricity supplies were disrupted in Tyurkin village, with two homes catching fire," adding that "several homes in Glushkovo village were also damaged."
