The World Health Organization revealed today, Monday, that "a 28-year-old man has tested positive for the coronavirus causing Middle East Respiratory Syndrome in Al Ain city in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, on the border with Oman." It noted in a statement that "the man was hospitalized last month," adding that "health officials have tested 108 individuals who had contact with him, but no additional infections have emerged so far." The organization mentioned that "there are no indications that the man had contact with the Arabian camels that spread the virus, which is different from the virus causing COVID-19." Data from the organization stated that 27 countries have reported cases of the coronavirus causing Middle East Respiratory Syndrome since 2012, which can lead to fever, cough, and shortness of breath, and possibly pneumonia in some cases. The data showed that since then, there have been 2,605 reported infections and 936 related deaths.
