A security source in Kirkuk province reported on Monday that 11 civilians were killed and injured in a traffic accident on the outskirts of the city. It was learned that a speeding truck ran over vegetable stall owners on the Kirkuk-Daqouq road, resulting in the death of two people, one of whom was elderly, and injuring 9 others, as well as destroying several vegetable stalls. Ambulances rushed to the scene of the accident and transported the injured to Kirkuk Hospital, while the two victims were taken to the forensic medicine department. Security authorities have opened an investigation into the incident. Iraqi provinces experience daily traffic accidents due to non-compliance with traffic laws or negligence and recklessness by drivers.
