Al Hilal Club continued its winning streak in the Saudi Pro League, defeating its guest Al Taawoun 2-0 in a match held on Friday evening as part of the 13th round of the league. The goals for the home team were scored by Serbian striker Aleksandar Mitrović and Saudi midfielder Mohammed Ibrahim Kanno in the 81st and 90th minutes, respectively, at King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh.
Aleksandar Mitrović raised his tally to 10 goals, placing him second in the league's top scorers’ list, reducing the gap to just two goals behind leader Cristiano Ronaldo, the captain of Al Nassr. Al Hilal achieved its sixth consecutive win and its eleventh of the current season (2023-2024), with just two draws, bringing its points total to 35 and distancing itself at the top of the league by 7 points ahead of second-placed Al Nassr, which will face Al Wahda on Saturday evening at King Abdul Aziz City for Sports in Mecca.
On the other hand, Al Taawoun's points stopped at 25, and it dropped to fourth place in the standings so far.
