The Spanish newspaper "Marca" reported that the hotel of Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo in Morocco has turned into a shelter for survivors of the major earthquake that occurred on Friday. Major European clubs and football stars expressed their solidarity and sorrow on Saturday for the lost lives. Following the earthquake, people sought refuge in any buildings they could find after the natural disaster, including Ronaldo's hotel. Ronaldo's hotel in Morocco has a four-star rating, and its management allowed those fleeing from destroyed buildings to take shelter there.

Irene Sixas, a Spanish citizen, told Spanish channel 24h that luxury hotels were among the places they "sought refuge in." She added, "We slept all night in the street, and at seven in the morning, they told us, yes, we could enter the hotel." Many sports stars expressed their solidarity with the earthquake victims in Morocco, with Spanish defender Sergio Ramos writing on "X": "Our hearts are with them," along with a picture of the Moroccan flag.
