French President Emmanuel Macron has apologized for not attending, stating: "I will not attend the peace summit in Egypt but do not rule out heading to the region in the coming days and weeks if that would be helpful in calming tensions." He added: "I am doing everything possible to avoid escalation, including regarding Lebanon, but the security situation remains unstable due to the heightened tensions."
