The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has set a new record in agriculture by having one of its advisory farms, part of the research unit for renewable water farming in Wadi Ben Hashel in the Asir Region (southern Saudi Arabia), listed in the Guinness World Records as the largest farm in the world by area. The total area of the farm exceeds 3.2 million square meters and is divided into two sections, each containing a concrete reservoir with a capacity of 500 cubic meters, in addition to an automatic irrigation network for all crops in both fields. The farm also features 5 climate-controlled greenhouses, along with several buildings.

On October 12, 2023, Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture Abdul Rahman Al-Fadli received the certificate of registration in the global records during a celebration held by the Saudi Riff Program at its headquarters in Riyadh, attended by Deputy Minister Engineer Mansour Al-Mashaiti, Secretary-General of the "Saudi Riff" Program Ghassan Bakri, and several leaders and staff from the ministry.

The farm relies on treated water for irrigating crops, employing a multi-stage irrigation process managed by experts in various fields such as irrigation, fertilization, pest control, and equipment to supervise and oversee all agricultural operations on the farm, which boasts 50 fields of fruit trees, with an additional 20 fields planned for future reclamation and cultivation.

The farm is focused on growing and producing alfalfa, as well as a variety of crops and fruits, including lemons, oranges, tangerines, pomegranates, grapes, figs, stone fruits, and olives, in addition to experimental fields that include many diverse agricultural varieties.
