According to Interfax news agency on Friday, the "Ministry of Digital Development in Russia has prohibited employees from using iPhones and iPads for work-related purposes." Digital Development Minister Maksut Shadayev stated at a digital conference, "A ban has been imposed on the use of mobile devices (produced by Apple) – smartphones and tablets – to access work applications and exchange work-related emails." He noted that while using iPhones for personal needs is allowed, the ministry issued the ban after the Russian domestic security service reported that several thousand Apple devices had been compromised due to espionage by the United States.
