Lebanon's Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri stated that "the Israeli project being executed today is not a verdict on the Palestinian cause, but rather a collapse of Arab national security and a plan to fragment the entire region into warring sectarian states." During the emergency meeting of the Union of Councils of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, held via video call, Berri emphasized that "defending Gaza and Palestine is not the responsibility of a specific Palestinian faction, nor is it solely the responsibility of the Palestinians; it is the responsibility of the entire nation. The plan of 'transfer' for the Palestinian people from the Gaza Strip to the Sinai Peninsula, if it were to occur, would not be the end of the Palestinian cause, but rather a collapse of Arab and Islamic national security."
Berri called on the Union of Councils to "demand that member states of the organization that have agreements with Israel immediately cancel these agreements or suspend their implementation, and to hasten the formation of government delegations to move and distribute in all decision-making capitals around the world, to stop the genocide against the Gaza Strip, and to also pressure for the cessation of all initiatives targeting the Jewish and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque, especially the projects aimed at dividing it temporally and spatially."
The Speaker affirmed "the right of the Palestinian people in their struggle and legitimate resistance, by all available means, to achieve their dream of return and to establish their independent Palestinian state with its capital in the holy city of Jerusalem." He concluded by expressing gratitude to Algeria and to his friend, President Ibrahim Boughali, and extended greetings "always and forever" to the resistors holding onto the essence of the issue, and to those with their fingers on the trigger in Palestine in the West Bank, Gaza, and Jerusalem, stating that "the dawn of Palestine's liberation and return will rise on their shoulders."
