Assize Court in Beirut Decides to Withdraw from the Case Concerning the Detention of Salameh

The Assize Court in Beirut, presided over by Judge Maher Chahite, has decided to withdraw from considering whether to continue the detention of the Governor of the Central Bank of Lebanon, Riad Salameh, due to the lawsuit for bias filed by his attorney on Tuesday. The court communicated its decision to the head of the Litigation Authority at the Ministry of Justice, Judge Hilana Iskander, and to Salameh's lawyer, Attorney Hafez Zkhour, who were both waiting in the Assize Court to learn the outcome.
