American player Jessica Pegula does not consider herself part of the "Big Three" in women's tennis, but the world number three confirmed the deserving recognition of players Iga Swiatek, Aryna Sabalenka, and Elena Rybakina. Pegula stated, "They truly deserve it; they play tennis exceptionally well. We have known Iga since last year, and I think Aryna took off in Australia after winning the big title. Her results are always evident."
She added, "Elena also succeeded in establishing herself at the end of last year. I mean, they are playing at a consistently high level, and they have earned this right. In terms of ranking, I'm in third place, but I'm sure that could change; I may move up or down, depending on the results."
Regarding her exclusion from the so-called "Big Three," Pegula said, "I hope to be part of that, but either way, it's a fantastic thing for women's tennis, especially since everyone talks about the lack of consistency in the level and such matters." She continued, "We should think about this because I believe we have a lot of depth, it's great to watch them play wonderfully in tennis, and I'm sure this is also something special for the game."
