Sultan Al Jaber: Failure is Not an Option!

Sultan Al Jaber, the President of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28), urged the participating countries at the conference on Sunday to "work more seriously, be flexible, and accept compromises to reach an agreement on addressing the climate change crisis, including introducing a framework for the first time regarding the future of fossil fuels." This call from Al Jaber came during statements he made to reporters as negotiators began discussing some of the most contentious issues in the agreement, such as the future of fossil fuels. Al Jaber urged countries to temper their ambitions regarding the agreement, considering that failure is not an option.
