Member of the "Development and Liberation" bloc, MP Mohammed Khawaja, denied that the "Amal" delegation to "Clemenceau" and "Ferdan" carried any proposals or initiatives from Berri for discussion at the meetings. He emphasized that "the meetings were dedicated to congratulating on the Eid al-Adha and finalizing the elections of the 'Progressive' party, and reaffirmed the depth of the bilateral relationship with the Chouf, despite differing views on some issues."
In an interview with "Al-Anbaa" newspaper, Khawaja pointed out that "there are no indications yet of Berri's intention to launch a new initiative, but the principle of dialogue and communication without any prior conditions is required, and those who refuse this idea must bear the responsibility for the delay in completing the presidential entitlement."
In response to a question regarding the dual's "Amal" and "Hezbollah" reliance on time for the other party to accept dialogue, possibly accepting some conditions, Khawaja considered that "time will be a killer for everyone and for the country, and if the other party is serious, they should seize the calls for dialogue. Otherwise, if they can independently send a president to Baabda, they should do it."
The "Amal" movement had conducted a tour in Clemenceau and Ferdan, where separate delegations met with the president of the "Progressive Socialist" party, MP Taymour Jumblatt, and the Druze spiritual leader Sami Abi Al-Muna, exchanging congratulations for Eid al-Adha.
