The Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Karim Khan, visited the Rafah border crossing between Gaza and Egypt today, Sunday. He posted a video on the social media platform "X" expressing his hope to visit the Gaza Strip and Israel while in the region. He added that there should be no obstacles to the arrival of humanitarian aid supplies to civilians. Khan emphasized that there should be no hindrances to the delivery of humanitarian assistance to children, women, and civilian men, stating that they are innocent. He noted that civilians have rights under international humanitarian law. The court has been investigating incidents in the occupied Palestinian territories since 2021, looking into alleged war crimes and potential crimes against humanity there. Khan previously stated that the ICC has jurisdiction over alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity during the Hamas attack on October 7 in Israel and in Gaza.
