Dutch police are using a television program today, Tuesday, to try to identify and locate troublesome fans who attempted to assault the families and friends of "West Ham United" players in Alkmaar last week. The police stated that "images of the suspects in this incident, which occurred on Thursday after the second leg of the European Conference League semi-final between Alkmaar and West Ham, will be broadcast to the public, seeking assistance in identifying them."
They noted that they have "identified several of them, and two have already gone to the police station to confess to their involvement in the events," according to the newspaper (Algemeen Dagblad) on Tuesday. Alkmaar fans stormed the pitch and assaulted West Ham supporters at the end of the match. A scuffle occurred, and several West Ham players, including captain Declan Rice, rushed to check on their families and friends.
The police have given a deadline until 4 PM local time today, Tuesday, for anyone involved in the incidents to turn themselves in; otherwise, their images will be shown on the television program to seek help in locating them.
