Blinken: The U.S. Will Provide Ukraine Weapons and Equipment Valued at Approximately $250 Million

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced on Wednesday that the United States will provide weapons and equipment to Ukraine worth up to $250 million in the latest aid package this year to support Kyiv in its war with Russia. President Joe Biden has requested Congress to provide an additional $61 billion in aid for Ukraine, but Republicans refuse to agree to that package without a deal with Democrats to tighten security along the U.S.-Mexico border. The White House has warned that without additional appropriations, U.S. aid needed by Ukraine to regain territory occupied by Russian forces since the invasion in February 2022 will run out by the end of the year. Blinken stated that the latest aid package includes air defense munitions, additional ammunition for artillery rocket systems, anti-armor munitions, and over 15 million rounds of ammunition.
