Western Sydney Wanderers announced on Wednesday the exclusion of Australian winger Brandon Burillo from the upcoming Asian Cup due to a foot fracture. The team added that Burillo sustained the injury during a derby match against Sydney FC earlier in the week and will be out of action for three months. The continental tournament, hosted by Qatar, will kick off on January 12, with Australia, the 2015 champion, beginning its campaign against India the following day. Burillo has been impressive with the Australian national team under coach Graham Arnold and recently scored against Bangladesh in the World Cup qualifiers in Melbourne. The Wanderers stated, "The entire Western Sydney Wanderers family supports Brandon during his surgery and recovery program and hopes for his return to competition as soon as possible."
