Russian and Egyptian Foreign Ministers Discuss the Situation in Gaza

The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that "Minister Sergey Lavrov discussed the situation in the Gaza Strip during a phone call with his Egyptian counterpart today, Thursday." It added: "It was noted that no acts of violence against civilians or attacks on residential buildings and civilian infrastructure are acceptable." Both sides agreed on an immediate ceasefire, the sustainable entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza, and the release of hostages. The Russian side emphasized "the urgent necessity to organize the evacuation of Russian citizens from the Palestinian territory as quickly as possible with the assistance of Egyptian partners."
