Israeli Broadcasting Authority: Security Leaders Decided to Resign

A number of Israeli security leaders, including Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi, have decided to resign from their positions and are discussing the appropriate timing to announce this, according to the Israeli Broadcasting Authority. The authority clarified that Halevi, head of the Internal Security Service (Shabak) Ronan Bar, and head of Military Intelligence (Aman) Aharon Haliva have already made the decision to resign. However, it added, "As long as the fighting in the south and north continues, these officials intend to remain in their positions. Therefore, their resignation is not expected in the near future." Halevi and Bar had separately announced after the October 7 attack that they bear responsibility. Haliva followed, publishing a message in which he referred to what he described as intelligence failure, stating: "I take responsibility for the failure, we failed in our most important mission."
