Mexico: Discovery of Human Remains During Search for 7 Missing Workers

Officials from the Attorney General's Office in the Mexican state of Jalisco found dozens of bags containing body parts while searching for seven missing young men. The office reported in a series of tweets on Twitter that the staff conducted searches in various areas to locate the young men who had been reported missing, focusing on two farms in the Jardines Vallarta and La Estancia neighborhoods. As a result of these efforts, investigative police obtained information about a possible location for the missing individuals, which is in a valley-like area that is difficult to access, where many bags containing body parts were found.

The search efforts carried out by the State Attorney General's Office to locate the seven young workers from a call center led to the discovery of several bags with human remains in the Mirador del Bosque ravine in Zapopan. In coordination with elements from the Civil Protection and Fire Department of Zapopan, several operations were conducted to retrieve the bags from the ravine, while the forensic department transported the bodies to their facilities to determine the number of individuals and causes of death, as well as to establish their official identities.

According to the office, 45 bags containing human remains, belonging to both men and women, have been extracted thus far. The search operations that began on Wednesday will continue in the coming days until all the bags are recovered. It cannot yet be determined whether the remains found in this area correspond to the seven missing workers from the Zapopan call center, so search efforts continue without interruption to locate these young men alive.
