Tunisia Announces Winners of Literary Creativity Awards at International Book Fair

The organizing committee of the 37th Tunis International Book Fair announced the winners of this year’s literary and intellectual creativity awards in the fields of novels, short stories, poetry, translation, and humanities. Mariam Salami received the novel award for her French novel "I Am Jealous of the Southern Breeze on Your Face," while Nizar Chakroun was honored for his Arabic novel "Zoul Allah." In the short story category, Hassan Marzouki won for his collection "The Vow," published as part of the "Barayat" series by Dar Al-Mutawassat. Khaled Al-Majri received the poetry award for his collection "The Village," while Mohamed Abu Hashim Mahjoub won the fair's award for philosophical writings for his book "In Questioning Today's Philosophy: Reflections on Second Philosophy." The humanities and literary studies award was jointly awarded to Mohamed Al-Qadi for his book "Ink of Self: A Study of News Literature by Al-Suli," and Mohamed Krou for his book "Jmenah: Oasis of Revolution," published in French. Jalal Al-Din Said won the translation award for his translation of Michel de Montaigne's "Essays," while the best publisher award went to Dar Kalima, and the special publishing award for children and young adults was awarded to Dar Boub Leprisse.

The awards ceremony, held at the Tunisian House of Sciences, Literature, and Arts "Bayt Al-Hikma" in Carthage, included honoring several writers and academics. The fair will continue until May 7.
