US President Joe Biden announced today, Friday, that he has held intensive talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in recent days, urging a temporary ceasefire. Biden told reporters that he made it clear that there needs to be a temporary ceasefire to facilitate the release of the hostages.
