Title: Israeli Army Reveals Proposal to Halt War

Israeli Army Radio reported that "a proposal will soon be presented to the government and the public to return all prisoners from Gaza, including soldiers, in exchange for halting the war." Media reports, citing informed sources, indicated that "CIA Director William Burns arrived in Qatar today, Tuesday, to discuss the possibility of reaching an expanded deal between Hamas and Israel." The Washington Post noted that Burns is trying to pressure Hamas and Israel to extend their negotiations concerning the prisoner exchange to include the release of men and military personnel, as previous discussions had been limited to women and children. The Wall Street Journal reported from an American official and an informed source that the CIA director is in Doha meeting with Qatari and Israeli officials to continue the release of prisoners and other aspects of the conflict in Gaza. It further stated that Burns' arrival in Qatar today indicates the challenges of the talks and noted that Mossad Director David Barnea is participating in this meeting. Additionally, Reuters cited a source saying that the CIA director and the Mossad chief are meeting with Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani in Doha "to build on the progress" achieved regarding the extension of the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas for 48 hours. The source added that "Egyptian officials are also participating in the Doha meeting, which discusses the next phase of a potential agreement, according to the agency."
