Major General Turki al-Maliki, spokesperson for the coalition supporting the legitimate government in Yemen, has stated the coalition's commitment to confronting ongoing and deliberate Houthi militia attacks on civilian structures and civilians within Saudi Arabia, as reported by Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Al-Maliki emphasized that the continued targeted assaults highlight the extremist and escalatory approach of the Houthi militia. On Monday, they attacked civilian sites in the cities of Khamis Mushait, Abha, and Taif using ballistic missiles and drones. These attacks resulted in minor to moderate injuries for 13 civilians and damaged seven homes and two vehicles.
He affirmed that the joint forces of the coalition are resolved to responsibly and firmly address these malicious attacks in defense of Saudi sovereignty and the protection of civilian sites and lives. This stance aligns with Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, self-defense principles, international humanitarian law, and its customary rules. The coalition will take all necessary operational measures to deter the Houthi militia and counteract its hostile and extremist behavior.
