The Yemeni Armed Forces have announced the recapture of strategic positions that the Houthi militias had infiltrated in western Taiz province. The military is advancing towards new areas in conjunction with airstrikes targeting militia gatherings and reinforcements across various parts of the province.
According to Yemen's official news agency, a military source in the Taiz Command confirmed that the army has reclaimed positions overlooking the Jurdad area in the Al-Shamayatain district and is advancing towards Gheel Bani Omar. This is part of ongoing operations aimed at expelling the Houthi militias from the province.
The source added that during the clashes, the armed forces seized military equipment and inflicted significant human losses on the militias.
Parallel to the ground advancement, warplanes conducted a series of airstrikes on militia positions, gatherings, and equipment in various areas of Taiz province.
According to the source, the airstrikes targeted vehicles and gatherings of terrorist militia elements in the districts of Dhubab, Al-Wazi'iyah, and Hayfan. They also bombed a group of militia fighters in the Al-Afeera area in Jabal Habashi district, resulting in the destruction of several military vehicles and the explosion of a stockpile of medium weapon ammunition, killing at least ten militants.
