Last night, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi held a telephone conversation with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri to discuss regional developments and the situation in South Lebanon.
According to a statement from the Iranian Foreign Ministry, both sides emphasized the need for increased coordination among regional countries to counter what they described as "Israeli policies of domination and war-provoking activities" against Lebanon and other nations in the region.
Araqchi reaffirmed Iran's interest in preserving Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity in the face of Israeli aggression, reiterating the Islamic Republic of Iran's support for the "Lebanese resistance" in confronting Israeli attacks.
In response, Berri expressed gratitude to Iran for its support of Lebanon and provided an overview of current developments in the south, as per the statement.
He also highlighted the legal and ethical responsibility of the international community, Islamic countries in particular, to stop Israeli violations and hold accountable those responsible.
