Egypt and France's Foreign Ministers Affirm Non-Interference in Sudan Conflict

Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry received a phone call from his French counterpart Catherine Colonna to consult and exchange assessments regarding the developments in Sudan. During the call, Colonna expressed her country's deep concern over the ongoing military confrontations and their worsening impact on the lives and safety of civilians. Both sides agreed on the necessity of working towards a ceasefire agreement as soon as possible and resolving the disputes between the conflicting parties through negotiations, aiming to spare the blood of the Sudanese people and restore the country to a peaceful political path.

The call also emphasized the importance of any external party refraining from intervening in this conflict in a way that exacerbates its intensity, contributing instead to the restoration of Sudan's security and stability as soon as possible. According to official statements, the Egyptian Foreign Minister was keen to inform his French counterpart about the efforts Egypt is making to end the ongoing conflict, including the results and recommendations from the recent Arab League Council meeting.
