The Croatian port of Omisalj has received its first oil shipment from the Emirati port of Fujairah, as European refining companies seek alternatives to Kurdish oil, the exports of which have been halted, according to Refinitiv data and trade sources. Refinitiv data showed that the tanker Eurohub discharged 200,000 tons of crude oil at the port of Omisalj on May 12, making it the first oil shipment to arrive from the UAE at the Croatian port. Two sources, who requested to remain anonymous, stated that the shipment was purchased by the Hungarian company MOL, and the type of crude was not disclosed. The UAE is the largest exporter of high-sulfur Murban crude oil.
