It's still early to discuss the upcoming release of Apple’s smartphones: the "iPhone 15," however, news about one of the phones in this version has leaked. We are still in September, which saw the launch of Apple’s new devices, such as the "iPhone 14" and others.
According to the tech news site "The Verge," the "iPhone 15" series will introduce the "iPhone 15 Ultra." It will serve as a replacement for the version known as "iPhone Pro Max." The reason behind this change is not clear, and there has been no official comment from Apple regarding it. The term "Ultra" simply means "extreme."
The tech site "soyacincau" mentioned that the new name proposed by Apple is inspired by their competitor Samsung. If this information is confirmed, it would mean that Apple is practically "copying" the name from their South Korean competitor, which uses the name "Ultra" for some of its phones, such as the "Galaxy S22 Ultra."
In reality, there is no significant difference between the regular "iPhone" and the "Pro Max," except for certain limited specifications such as screen size and battery capacity. The anticipated changes in the "iPhone 15" are not limited to the name alone, as there will be "larger changes," according to tech journalist Mark Gurman. He stated that the new phone will include the addition of a "USB-C" port.
