Biden: Hamas Must Be Eliminated, This Is My Message to Iran

U.S. President Joe Biden stated that he is "confident" that Israel will act according to the laws of war in its conflict with the Palestinians, adding that the deployment of U.S. troops in the Middle East is unnecessary. In an interview with "60 Minutes" on CBS News, Biden expressed his belief that Hamas must be completely eradicated, pointing out the need for "a path toward a Palestinian state as well." He warned that the threat of terrorism in the United States has increased due to tensions in the Middle East. The U.S. president emphasized that Iran "consistently supports Hamas and Hezbollah, and there is no clear evidence that Iran is behind this war." Biden added, "My message to Iran is to not cross the borders and not escalate the war." He indicated that Israel would make a mistake if it occupied Gaza, affirming that "Washington can manage the war in Israel and Ukraine while simultaneously maintaining its global defense."
