Maria Guardiola, daughter of Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, was among tens of thousands who participated in a massive demonstration in London on Saturday to support Palestinians. Approximately one hundred thousand people protested in London on Saturday afternoon, demanding an end to the war in Gaza and support for Palestinians, two weeks into the ongoing conflict between Hamas and Israel.
From the heart of the demonstration, Maria posted several photos on her Instagram account via the Stories feature. One of the photos showed a child holding a sign that read: "Bombing children is not self-defense." Another image stated: "Please stop bombing my friends, their mothers, and fathers." Maria expressed her support for the Palestinians, who have been facing continuous bombardment in Gaza since Hamas launched its surprise attack inside Israel on October 7.
On Saturday, she shared a lengthy message, stating: "Is this really what we are doing now? Sitting and watching genocide happen on television?" She added: "How many people have to die before someone speaks out against this madness and urges restraint?" She continued: "This is very simple. We are witnessing an occupied and oppressed people facing genocide at the hands of a nuclear state with full support from the Western world. This is not and has never been an equal fight."
