Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced on Wednesday a "strong rejection" of the UN report which claims that Russia violated children's rights in Ukraine. Peskov stated, "Russian forces have taken measures to protect children by evacuating them from conflict zones." He added, "Our army has risked its life and taken actions to save children and protect them from the shelling carried out by Ukrainian armed forces on civilian infrastructure." The report, issued on Tuesday, accused Russia of detaining more than 800 civilians, some of whom are children, since the conflict began in February of last year.
