Ukrainian authorities reported today, Monday, that "two people died after Russian forces shelled a parking lot in the city of Kherson in southern Ukraine." The local prosecutor's office stated that "local prosecutors have opened an investigation into war crimes regarding the shelling that occurred around 9 a.m. and resulted in another person's injury." For his part, Kherson Governor Oleksandr Prokudin stated: "The deceased were drivers working for a private transportation company." Russian forces have been repeatedly shelling the city of Kherson across the Dnipro River since Ukrainian forces regained control of the regional capital last November.
