Francesco Bagnaiya, the Ducati rider and reigning MotoGP world champion, secured the pole position for the German Grand Prix after topping the qualifying sessions on Saturday. Bagnaiya recorded the fastest lap time of 1 minute and 21.409 seconds, just 0.078 seconds ahead of Luca Marini, a rider from (VR46) and the half-brother of motorcycle legend Valentino Rossi. Jack Miller completed the front row by taking third place with Red Bull (KTM). Six-time world champion Marc Marquez, riding for Honda, finished seventh in the first qualifying session, while 2021 world champion Fabio Quartararo from France ranked 12th.
However, one of Marquez's most harrowing incidents occurred during Friday's practice when he slid into the gravel after his bike slipped from beneath him, colliding with Zarco, which led to Zarco's Pramac Racing bike splitting in half. Jorge Martin from Pramac Ducati and his teammate Johann Zarco will start from the second row next to Marco Bezzecchi, who finished fifth despite experiencing a crash in the second qualifying session.
