Trump's Plan to Reshape NATO: What It Means for Member States

A senior national security adviser to Donald Trump confirmed to Reuters on Tuesday that he would seek changes in NATO if the former president returns to power, which could lead to some member states losing protection from any external attack. Retired General Keith Kellogg, former chief of staff at the National Security Council, stated in an interview that if a member of the 31-country alliance fails to spend at least two percent of its GDP on defense, as agreed, he would support stripping that country of the protections guaranteed by Article Five of the alliance's charter.
