Zelensky Appeals to UAE for Support of Ukraine's "Peace Formula"

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has urged UAE Minister of Climate Change and Environment Mariam Al Mheiri, who is currently visiting Kyiv, to support the "peace formula" promoted by Ukraine, according to Russia Today. During his meeting with the UAE minister, Zelensky stated, "We are interested in your country's support for our peace formula." He added, "Environmental issues were another topic of negotiations" and thanked the UAE for its willingness to provide assistance to Kyiv. The Ukrainian authorities highlighted the "peace formula" they have prepared but simultaneously rejected proposals from third parties for peace. Zelensky commented on the Vatican's initiatives for resolution, stating that his country does not need intermediaries. From Moscow's side, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova claimed that the so-called Zelensky peace plan is "another American guide to stirring up conflict in Europe." Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted that Zelensky's statements about a peaceful settlement do not take existing realities into consideration.
