The Saudi Pro League giant Al-Hilal announced the signing of Senegalese defender Kalidou Koulibaly from Chelsea on Sunday. Al-Hilal posted on Twitter along with a video of the 32-year-old player, stating, "We continue to write history together." The contract extends until the 2025-2026 season, without disclosing financial details. Koulibaly said in the video, "I am here with those who create glory, present and future." The player, who won the Africa Cup of Nations with Senegal, scored two goals in 32 appearances across all competitions for Chelsea since joining from Napoli last year. The Saudi league has become attractive to stars following Cristiano Ronaldo's massive transfer to Al-Nassr at the end of last year. Earlier this month, league champions Al-Ittihad signed French duo Karim Benzema and N'Golo Kanté, and Al-Hilal announced the signing of Portuguese Ruben Neves, the captain of Wolverhampton Wanderers, last Friday. Reports indicate that this summer will see more European football stars joining Saudi clubs.
