Absence of Mancini and Politano for Italy Against Ukraine Due to Injury

The Italian Football Federation has announced that Gianluca Mancini and Matteo Politano will miss the national team's lineup against Ukraine in the Euro 2024 qualifiers tomorrow, Tuesday. In a statement, it said: "Italy's new coach Luciano Spalletti, given the medical diagnosis, decided to send the players back to their clubs in light of the mutual cooperation relationship between the national team and Italian clubs." Spalletti has called up winger Riccardo Orsolini to the squad to compensate for the absence of the injured duo. Mancini, a defender for Roma, is suffering from a thigh injury, while Politano, a forward for Napoli, injured his leg during the 1-1 draw against North Macedonia in a Euro qualifying match last Saturday. Forward Federico Chiesa and midfielder Lorenzo Pellegrini were also removed from Italy's squad last week due to injury. Italy currently sits third in Group C with four points from three matches, trailing nine points behind group leaders England, who have played two additional matches.
