The Secretary-General of the Supreme Relief Commission, Major General Mohammad Khair, inspected the building that caught fire on Airport Road and met with the residents. He addressed them, saying: "This file will go to court, and every resident in this building has rights that must be secured through the judiciary. There should be housing compensation for the residents, and this is a decision by President Mikati. It will be provided in coordination with the head of the Municipal Union of the Southern Suburbs, as this matter was agreed upon 10 days ago. We are waiting to assess the level of danger, and we will not allow anyone to enter the building before the concrete and rebar are tested and the extent of the damages is evaluated."
After meeting with the building's residents, General Khair moved to the nearby "Talia" charity center, where he held a meeting that included Colonel Maher Al-Ajouz, the head of the Southern Suburb Civil Defense, Hussein Kareem, the president of the Municipal Union of the Southern Suburbs, Mohammad Daghm, and engineers from "Ilmi and Khattib" and the Supreme Relief Commission. They agreed to continue monitoring the building's condition and to take the necessary samples to ensure the safety of the building as well as the neighboring buildings.
