Billionaire and CEO of Tesla, Elon Musk, announced today, Friday, that his AI startup "X.AI" will launch its first AI model for a select group on Saturday. This comes nearly a year after "ChatGPT" from OpenAI captured the imagination of companies and users worldwide, leading to a significant rise in the adoption of generative artificial intelligence technology. Musk co-founded OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, in 2015 but resigned from its board in 2018. He stated on Friday, "In some important ways, the new X.AI model is better than anything currently available." The billionaire, who criticized the AI efforts and oversight by major tech companies earlier this year, emphasized, "It will unleash the maximum intelligence seeking the truth and trying to understand the nature of the universe to compete with Google's and Microsoft's Bing AI's cold rivalry."
