Manchester City, competing in the English Premier League, announced the signing of 18-year-old Argentinian midfielder Claudio Echeverri from River Plate until June 2028. Echeverri will remain at River Plate, based in Buenos Aires, where he has made six appearances since his debut in June, until early next year. He captained the Argentinian team in the Under-17 World Cup held last year in Indonesia, scoring a hat trick in the 3-0 victory over Brazil in the quarter-finals before his team lost to Germany in the semi-finals via penalty shootouts.
