Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that "Turkey's GDP has reached $1.119 trillion for the first time." During an election rally in Aydın province in western Turkey, Erdogan highlighted that "the Turkish economy achieved significant success last year with a growth of 4.5% despite the earthquake and other negative factors." He noted the success of the Turkish economy through 14 consecutive quarters of growth, making the country the fastest growing among EU member states. According to the Turkish Statistical Institute, GDP at current prices increased by 75% in 2023 compared to the previous year based on production method.
