For the first time, private schools in Dubai have ranked among the top 14 worldwide in mathematics, science, and reading skills in the 2022 Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA), surpassing the goals set by the national agenda for this indicator, which aimed for education to be among the top 20 globally. This assessment is conducted every three years by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
The PISA 2022 program measures students' ability to apply real-life skills in mathematics, science, and reading and to use these skills in everyday practical situations, which requires various skills such as confidence, problem-solving ability, perseverance, and empathy, all of which are linked to quality of life.
Private schools in Dubai ranked ninth globally in mathematics skills with an average score of 497 points, exceeding the OECD's global average by 25 points. They ranked 13th globally in reading skills with an average score of 498 and 14th in science skills with an average score of 503.
