Maronite Patriarch Beshara Raï emphasized that it is the duty of every Christian to care for those in need, as our path to God goes through humanity and its needs. On the occasion of "Poverty Day," Patriarch Raï stated, "Our people in the south are leaving their homes, which means more poverty. Therefore, we have asked parishes to collect financial contributions and 'gather trays' on Sunday to provide to our families coming from the southern towns."
