Scientists have discovered what is believed to be the oldest black hole in the universe, which formed 470 million years after the Big Bang. The results, published yesterday, confirm theories that have recently discussed the existence of supermassive black holes in the dawn of the universe. The study involved the James Webb Space Telescope of the U.S. space agency NASA and the Chandra X-ray Observatory, according to the Associated Press. This black hole is estimated to be 13.2 billion years old, while the universe itself is 13.7 billion years old. What is even more surprising to scientists is that this black hole is enormous, about 10 times larger than the black hole found in our Milky Way galaxy.
